Can Week
This year’s Challenge Day Food Drive to help stock the shelves of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank is GOING ON NOW! From now until March 26, we encourage families to drop off canned goods to CHS during regular school hours. We will also accept monetary donations for those who can't make it to campus through Venmo or MyCHS account - just ten dollars covers almost 22 lbs of food! Not only will your donation support the Baton Rouge community, but it will also help our Bears in the annual Challenge Day competition!
A Message from our Can Week Chair
Catholic High Community,
My name is Ben Bailey, and I am excited
to announce that the Catholic High Student Council has partnered with the Baton Rouge Food Bank for our annual can drive! As an executive board member of Student Council, President of Student Ambassadors, and President of the Honor Board, I encourage you to participate in this year’s drive. Your involvement will benefit Catholic High in several ways:
-
It demonstrates Catholic High’s ongoing commitment to the service spirit of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart.
-
It strengthens Catholic High’s relationship with the Baton Rouge Food Bank and local businesses.
-
The Bears will earn two points in Challenge Day against St. Joseph’s on April 4th if we reach the goal of 24 pounds per student.
Thanks to your generous donations and the Bears’ hard work, last year we exceeded our goal of 22 pounds per student, which contributed to a Catholic High victory at Challenge Day! So, I ask my Catholic High brothers: “CAN we do it again?” Below are ways you can help Student Council surpass our goal:
-
Drop off canned goods, rice, or peanut butter at CHS during regular school hours from March 20th–26th. You can also drop off donations at Goodwood Hardware & Outdoors on Jefferson Highway or Bet-R under the Perkins overpass.
-
Can’t make it to school? Donate via Venmo or through your MYCHS account.
Most Respectfully,
Ben Bailey, CHS Class of 2025
