FAITH FORMATION
Brothers of the Sacred Heart schools create school cultures in which prayer is a natural and routine part of daily life. Our regular celebrations of liturgies, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and other school-wide prayer experiences are a rich part of school life for every student.

Religion Curriculum
Catholic High School’s religion curriculum provides classroom instruction and theological study aimed at helping students to believe in God’s love and actively pursue God’s plan in their lives. Designed to mirror the faith journey they are living, the subject material at each grade level forms the foundation for the next year. Building on the fundamental elements of Church history, Sacred Scripture, and the Sacraments as underclassmen, students are prepared to contemplate their personal moral development in light of Catholic Social Teaching and the complex world into which they will graduate. The service requirement for each grade level helps to complete each student’s religious formation at CHS.

Pastoral Counseling
As pastoral counselors, the campus ministers work toward the total faith development of each student, attempting to help him fulfill his social, psychological, and religious needs. The campus ministers are available to students for spiritual guidance and faith counseling on a daily basis, listening, helping and lending support.
Catholic High School’s overall program of faith formation is designed to form young men to live their lives for others in the spirit of the Gospel. An important element involved in this effort is service to others, not only at school but also in the larger community.
The CHS spiritual growth program includes:
- Daily religious education and classroom prayer
- Eucharistic liturgies and Sacrament of Reconciliation
- Student Ministry team
- Yearly class retreats
- Service requirements
- Schoolwide Projects
- Extracurricular Service
Because we believe that a student learns through his or her experience of the total school environment, we devote ourselves to build within the school a community spirit that is characterized by a pervading influence of Christian values, a strong insistence on an orderly and disciplined atmosphere, a personal approach to education, and a firm commitment to academic excellence.
