On Tuesday, leaders from the CHS Respect Life Club attended a press conference at the State Capitol led by Bishop Duca and Sister Helen Prejean to offer support for current efforts to abolish the death penalty in our state. State Senator Katrina Jackson (Monroe) and State Representative Kyle Green (New Orleans) have co-authored the bill for the current session of the Louisiana legislature.

Following the press conference, Senator Jackson invited the students from CHS and SJA to attend a senate committee meeting in order to learn more about the process of advocacy. Representing CHS were Hap Heroman '22, Cole Mogharrebi '24, Reagan Robinson '22, Kristophe Sauviac '23, Joseph Serpas '22, Mrs. Margo Otterstetter, Mrs. Cynthia Losavio, and Mr. Scott Losavio.
