CHS/SJA Choir Performs in Rome

This week, members of the SJA/CHS Choir traveled across the world to Rome to perform at the Festival Corale Internazionale Di Roma (Rome Choral Festival). The students spent a few days touring the city, being introduced to the Italian culture, and even singing in the Pantheon!

The Rome International Choral Festival is one of Rome’s premier annual summer music events. The fourteenth-annual festival featured Mass participation at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican on June 24th, 2023 and a formal finale concert at Rome’s Chiesa di Sant’Ignazio di Loyola on June 25th, 2023. The festival chorus included mixed-voice singers and choirs from across North America that came together to rehearse and perform en masse under the baton of maestro Z. Randall Stroope. Tour and festival production is produced by Music Celebrations International.

The Sunday evening performance took place a the Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola at Campus Martius--a Baroque-style Catholic church dedicated to Saint Ignatius, who founded the Jesuit order.

We could not be more proud of our guys, the ladies of SJA and the incredibly talented Choir directors for their hard work and incredible talent!
