On Tuesday March 19th, Catholic High School held a liturgy in celebration of St. Joseph's Feast Day. Fr. Andrew Merrick, pastor of St. John the Evangelist Church in Prairieville and director of seminarians for the Diocese, presided over the mass.
In his Homily, Father Merrick spoke to knowing who we are. He reminded us that we are the only beings that were made in the image of God, and that no amount of chasing titles or wins or successes will fulfill us until we learn that we enough for God. We need not chase or achieve success for God to love us. Once we know God's unconditional, infinite, and perfect love, then we can truly know joy.
We were honored to have young ladies from St. Scholastica Academy in Covington and Mr. Keith Adams and Mr. Dan Gurall from Bishop Guertin High School, a Brothers of the Sacred Heart School in Nashua New Hampshire to pray with us. Thank you to the Brothers of the Sacred Heart and parents who joined us this morning.
