A history-making performance by a young and talented group propelled the Catholic High wrestling team to a Greater Baton Rouge City Championship this past weekend. It was the 34th city title in school history.
Five Bears won individual titles, including Alec Sonnier, the first 8th-grader ever to win a city championship, and two 9th-graders, Caleb Kirk and Michael Hanemann. Sophomore Mark Evans and junior Kristian Scott also won individual titles.
CHS will now prepare for the LHSAA State Championship meet held February 14-15 in Bossier City.
