Swimming finishes strong season as State Runner-Up

The CHS Swim team finished the 2022 season with a second place team finish at the LHSAA Division I State Swim Meet in Sulphur, La.

The Bears finished 63 points behind Jesuit in the meet finals.

It's the 12th year in a row the Bears have finished in the top 2 in the team standings at State including 7 State Titles (2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020) and 5 runners-up (2012, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022)

The Bears 200-yard Freestyle Relay team (Sammy Smith, James Stuckey, Jackson DeJean, and William DeJean) won their event with a team time of 1:27.13.

William DeJean also won the 200-yard Individual Medley in a time of 1:53.42

The 400-yard Freestyle Relay team (Sammy Smith, Alex Cooper, Martin Harrison, William DeJean) placed second, only bested by a new state swim meet record by Jesuit's team.
