Senior Domangue named 2023 Wrestling Star of Stars

Senior Thomas Domangue was honored by The Advocate on Thursday as the "Star of Stars" for the 2022-2023 Wrestling season.

Domangue captured his second consecutive wrestling state championship in the 182 pound weight class last weekend in Bossier City, helping lead the Bears to a runner-up team finish in Division I.

This season Domangue compiled a 34-4 record on the mat, was named to the All-Metro First Team and was named the Metro Area's Outstanding Wrestler of the year.

"Thomas is what we call a program guy," head coach Tommy Prochaska said. "In his first two years, he won a combined 10 varsity matches. In his last two years, he won over 70 matches and became the seventh two-time state champion in school history. He is a humble, quiet leader, and is well-respected by his teammates. He has shown what dedication and hard work can do in our sport. I am very proud of the person and athlete he has become."

For his career, Domangue had a record of 77-12, he will be recognized at the annual Star of Stars Banquet held at the L'Auberge Event Center on May 22.
