Senior All-State golfer signs on with Furman to continue golf career

Senior golfer Walter Anderson signed a national letter of intent on Wednesday to continue his golf career at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina next year.

Anderson is a four-time Baton Rouge All-Metro selection and a two-time Baton Rouge large schools' player of the year heading into his senior season. Last season, Walter finished 2nd as an individual in the Division 1 State Championship at Cane Row in New Iberia, leading the Bears to a runner-up finish and securing All-State status.

"I am so proud of Walter and happy for his family," Head Coach Chris Davis said. "It's an honor to see such a great and hard-working young man achieve one of his dreams. Walter has been a leader for Catholic High golf ever since he stepped on campus. Furman is getting an incredible golfer but even a better person."
