Indoor Track & Field Team Captures State Title

The Catholic High Indoor Track & Field 4x400m relay team provided a thrilling finish as the Bears captured the LHSAA Division I State Championship on Saturday at LSU. Amari Clayton, Harrison Lalande, William DeCuir, and Christopher McCullen crossed the finish line just .05 seconds ahead of second-place Scotlandville to clinch the title for CHS.

Many other Bears helped CHS earn its first indoor state championship since 2019. Jack Torrance began the meet by placing third in the shot put event. The 4x800m relay team of DeCuir, McCullen, Patrick Kelly, and Ethan Pham came in third. Finally, Gus Juneau placed third in the 3200m, breaking a school record in the process.
