Dale Weiner to be honored by the Touchdown Club of New Orleans

Legendary CHS Football Coach Dale Weiner will be recognized by the Touchdown Club of New Orleans as the 2023 Prep Football Coach of the Year.

Weiner will be recognized at the Club's annual banquet on Saturday, March 11 at the Higgins Hotel in New Orleans.

Coach Weiner retired from football at the end of the 2016 season after 30 years in charge of the CHS Football program.

He led the Bears to the 2015 Division I State Championship as well as a State Runner-Up finish in Class 4A in 1990.

Under Coach Weiner's leadership, the Bears racked up 317 wins, won 18 district titles, made 15 state quarterfinal trips and eight semifinal trips.

Weiner's 317 wins ranks 7th all-time in the state of Louisiana.

He was named State coach of the year on three different occasions, and was named district coach of the year 15 of his 30 seasons in charge of the Bears.

Weiner coached four high school All-Americans and more than 140 college athletes. He is also a Grizzly Great and a member of the Louisiana Weightlifting Hall of Fame.
