Catholic High School’s Wrestling team finished 3rd in this year’s LHSAA Division I State Championship. The Bears led all Division I schools in number of state placers by placing ten wrestlers out of 14 weight classes. Two team members, Junior Watts Goodson (126 lbs.) and Junior Thomas Domangue (170 lbs.), won individual state titles. The wrestling team will return ten starters next year.
- Senior, Richard Carroll, finished third at 160 lbs.
- Senior, Michael Price, finished fourth at 152 lbs. Michael finished fifth last year.
- Senior, Jermaine Vessell, finished fourth at 220 lbs. Jermaine finished sixth last season.
- Junior, Thomas Domangue, is the State Champ at 182 lbs.
- Junior, Elijah Gilmore, finished 6th at 138 lbs.
- Junior, Watts Goodson, is the State Champ at 126 lbs. He finished 3rd last season.
- Junior, Grant Grizzaffi, finished 3rd. He finished 4th last season.
- Junior, Nic Migliacio, finished 6th at 195lb.
- Junior, David Russell, finished fifth at 285 lbs.
- Sophomore, Christian Worley, finished 4th.
