The Catholic High soccer team's historic season came to a disappointing end Saturday night at Strawberry Stadium as the Bears fell to Jesuit 1-0. Head Coach JB Brunet's Bears remained unbeaten throughout the regular season and postseason reaching the school's fourth state championship match in five seasons.
After 80 minutes of regulation and two overtime periods, the Bears and Blue Jays remained deadlocked in a scoreless tie. Finally, in the 103rd minute of play, Jesuit found the back of the net off of a free kick giving the Blue Jays a "Golden Goal" and the victory.
The Bears finished the season 22-1-1 and district champions.
