CHS Soccer Heads To Semifinals

On Monday night, the Catholic High soccer team scored three goals in a span of just five minutes on their way to a 3-0 Division I quarterfinal victory over Baton Rouge High. The three goals were more than enough as the Bears' defense and goalkeeper Chris Kennedy recorded yet another clean sheet.

Senior Reece Gaudin began the scoring barrage with a right-footed rocket from long range that evaded the Bulldog keeper. Just a minute later, junior Mac Couhig settled a ricocheted pass from Chris Day and found the back of the net. Jacques Breaux capped the scoring not long after Couhig's goal as he beat the Baton Rouge High keeper.

The Bears now move on to the Division I semifinals where they will host St. Paul's on Saturday, February 17. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. at Dale Weiner Field.
