The Catholic High Bears basketball team won the championship at the WAMP Classic hosted by Westgate High School this weekend.
The Bears opened the tournament with a dominating 67-32 victory over the Beau Chene Gators on Jan. 5.
It took overtime in the semifinal on Jan. 6 for CHS to pull away from Breaux Bridge in a 59-53 victory sending the Bears to the championship game.
In the Championship, the Bears faced hosts Westgate High and came home with the win again 55-42.
The tournament sweep moves CHS to 15-3 on the season, the team will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 13 as they travel to Ascension Parish to face the Donaldsonville Tigers.
