CHS Baseball was named the 26th best team in America heading into the 2023 season on Monday by Collegiate Baseball as part of the publication's preview of the 30 best High School teams in the country.
The recognition comes after a stellar 2022 campaign that ended with the Bears capturing the school's fifth state championship and first since 2013.
The team ended the 2022 season with a 31-7 record and were the No. 1 seed in the LHSAA Division I Playoffs before sweeping their way to the title, defeating John Curtis in the State Championship by a score of 4-1.
The Bears are one of three schools from Louisiana to make the list ahead of the 2023 season which starts with the Cur Dog Cup on Feb. 3 and 4. The Bears first official home game will be against St. Paul's on Feb. 20 at 5:00pm, ticket information to come soon.
