Just hours before first pitch of the Catholic High baseball team's 7-3 victory over H.L. Bourgeois on Tuesday, the team received some exciting news. The Bears were named the new No.1 high school baseball team in the nation according to Perfect Game USA.
The news came after a successful road trip for the Bears in Destin, FL last weekend as they took part in the South Walton Showdown. CHS won three out of four games, including victories over No.6 Lewisburg (MS) and No.11 Farragut (TN).
Tuesday night's win moved CHS to 18-1 on the season. The team is back in action tonight as they travel to Mandeville to face the Skippers. Game 2 and 3 of the series with the Skippers will be at Grizzly Field on Thursday (3 p.m.) and Friday (5 p.m.).
