CHS Baseball Named National Champions

On June 18, the Catholic High School baseball team was named National Champions by MaxPreps in an announcement on their website and social media.

MaxPreps is a national media outlet that focuses on high school sports. The company boasts millions of online subscribers and social media followers.

The Bears recently completed the greatest season in program history. CHS compiled a 38-2 overall record that included a district championship, the program's sixth state championship, and now a national championship.

CHS also captured several major awards following their magical year. Five Bears were named to the 5A All-State team, head coach Brad Bass was named Coach of the Year, and senior pitcher William Schmidt was named 5A's Most Outstanding Player. Schmidt also earned Louisiana's Gatorade Player of the Year and Mr. Baseball honors.
