CHS and SJA Host Historic Basketball Event

This past Friday, a standing room only crowd witnessed the Catholic High School and St. Joseph's Academy basketball teams join together for the first time in history to host a night of basketball.

The event was held at the SJA Student Activity Center and saw both the Redstickers and Bears take on Dunham. Fans were treated to two thrilling games that came down to the final moments.

In the first game of the evening, St. Joseph's erased a late deficit to tie the game with just 15 seconds left. After a timeout, Kendall Dailey made a running jump shot that proved to be the game-winner for the Stickers.

The boys game between the Bears and Tigers followed suit as the two teams exchanged the lead often throughout the contest. CHS had several chances to tie or even take the lead in the final moments but were unable to cash in. Dunham hung on to win 46-44.

A special thanks goes out to SJA Athletic Director Erin Hart, CHS Athletic Director Ben DiPalma, SJA Head Coach Tim Waller, and CHS Head Coach Derrick Jones for putting together such a special night. The event will move to CHS next season against an opponent to be determined at a later date.
