Senior Max Cavana was named The Advocate's "Star of Stars" for the 2022-2023 soccer season on Thursday.
Cavana has been a stalwart in the Bears midfield over his four years at CHS, leading the team to a pair of state championships and a state runner-up finish.
"Max has been a major influence in the CHS soccer program over the last four years," Head Coach J.B. Brunet said. "His contributions on the field and in the classroom have been incredible. On behalf of the coaching staff and his teammates, we congratulate Max on this fantastic award."
This season, Cavana scored 14 goals and assisted on two goals from his defensive midfield position, while helping lead a defense that allowed just nine goals all season.
Cavana has also racked up numerous individual accolades for his senior season including:
- All-State Defensive Most Valuable Player
- All-District Most Valuable Player
- All-District Team Member
- CHS Soccer Offensive Most Valuable Player
- 2022-2023 LHSAA All-Academic Composite Team (4.0 GPA)
Cavana will be recognized at the annual Star of Stars Banquet held at the L'Auberge Event Center on May 22.
