BATON ROUGE, LA – July 11, 2022 – Catholic High School announces the hiring of Sean Brady, as the head coach of the school’s indoor/outdoor track and field program. Brady says he is excited to join the CHS family and continue the program’s longstanding tradition of excellence in the sport of track and field.
“Catholic High School is known for producing students who excel in everything from academics to athletics. It is that standard of excellence – both inside the classroom and out – that made this opportunity so compelling,” Brady explains. “Coach Pete Boudreaux wrote the playbook for success in the world of track. I am excited to work alongside him to build championship teams and maintain the school’s already exceptional reputation of producing first-class athletes.”
Brady spent the last five years as an assistant coach at Texas A&M, working with jumpers and multi-event athletes. His efforts helped his athletes attain All-SEC status (37 athletes), All-American honors (38 athletes), and NCAA National Champion titles (6 athletes). Prior to this, he served as the head track and field coach at Southeastern Louisiana University for 17 years. Over the course of his career, Brady has accumulated numerous Coach of the Year and Assistant Coach of the Year honors.
Brady earned a degree in Kinesiology at Southeastern Louisiana in 1994. In addition to this, he has a post-graduate degree from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, where he also trained professional athletes and taught athletics classes in the sports science curriculum. He holds certification from USA Track & Field as a Level I and II coach.
A native of Louisiana, Brady graduated from Alexandria Senior High School, where he was a district and regional champion in the pole vault. He competed in the pole vault at Southeastern Louisiana for three seasons after spending two years at Northwestern State, where he was a defensive back on the football team. He says he and his wife, Ashley, and son, Noah, are eager to return to Louisiana.
“South Louisiana is our home and we are very excited about moving back to the area,” Brady says. “I look forward to beginning this new journey at CHS as I work alongside the talented team of educators to develop young men and prepare them for life after high school.”
