Bears Win Division I Select State Title!

On December 9, the Catholic High football team used an explosive offensive and opportunistic defense to take down Acadiana 55-31 inside the Caesars Superdome. The blowout victory gave the Bears their fifth state championship in school history.

The Bears' offense was unstoppable tallying over 500 total yards on the night. Senior quarterback Daniel Beale completed 18 passes for 360 yards and four touchdowns. Beale was also named the game's Most Outstanding Player. Wide receiver Cohen LeBlanc led the way with seven catches for 121 yards and two scores. Brooks Wright also caught two scoring passes from Beale. The ground game also delivered as running back Barry Remo II rushed for over 100 yards and three scores of his own.

Although the Wreckin' Rams were able to chew up yards using their unique rushing attack, the CHS defense turned in a stellar performance. The Black Hat Defense was able to force three turnovers that quickly turned the momentum of the game and never allowed Acadiana to get within striking distance.

CHS finished the season on a 10-game winning streak that included victories over Central, Zachary, John Curtis, and Rummel on their way to the state title.
