Bears take opener against Zachary, now 5-0 in District play

Pitcher Alex Ainsworth threw a complete game shut out on Thursday night as the CHS Baseball Bears took care of district foe Zachary in game one of a three game set.

Ainsworth allowed only four hits and struck out six on the night.

The Bears offense was held in check for most of the night, but came alive in the final three innings to plate five runs including three in the Top of the 5th.

Brooks Wright led the way with a pair of RBI, Cole Cranford and Jack Ruckert each had a pair of base hits, and Noah Lewis added to the score with a solo HR (his first career CHS Varsity HR).

The Bears host the Broncos at Grizzly Field Friday Night for Game 2 before traveling back up to Zachary for Game 3 on Saturday.
