This past weekend, the Catholic High basketball team continued their hot start to the season by capturing the Showdown at the Lake tournament championship in Lake Charles, LA. The Bears defeated Evangel, Washington-Marion, Hannan, and Lake Charles College Prep on the path to lift the trophy.
Senior guard Tate McCurry was named the tournament's MVP for his spectacular effort over the course of four games in three days.
The Bears improved their record to 8-0 and will return home on Tuesday, December 10 to host Archbishop Hannan in the home opener. Freshmen tip off the action at 5 p.m. followed by JV at 6 and Varsity at 7:15 p.m.
