#1 CHS and #2 Jesuit Play to Draw

On Saturday, the unbeaten and untied Catholic High soccer team traveled to New Orleans to face their biggest test of the season, a matchup with #2 ranked Jesuit. A back and forth affair led to a 2-2 draw and the first blemish on the Bears' record.

CHS got the scoring started early with a Matias Rodriguez goal just two minutes into the contest. The score remained 1-0 Bears until the 60th minute when the Blue Jays found the back of the net to tie the match. The Bears retook the lead 2-1 just a minute later as Brennan Breaux put away a beautiful pass from Chris Day. Unfortunately, CHS could not hold on to the lead as Jesuit drew a penalty kick in the 80th minute for the equalizer.

The Bears record is now 16-0-1 on the season. CHS returns to the pitch Thursday night at Zachary with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m.
