CHS Alumni Association Establishes Scholarships in Honor of Kyle Jackson '07 and Kevin Franklin '93

The CHS Alumni Association proudly announces scholarships established in honor of two influential alumni who passed away earlier this year - Mr. Kyle Jackson and Mr. Kevin Franklin.

Kyle Jackson, a 2007 graduate of Catholic High School, served as the school’s tennis coach leading the team to four state championships (2021, 2019, 2018, and 2017). He was a long-time supporter of the school, serving as president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors at the time of his death. Kevin Franklin, a 1993 graduate, was a CHS Man of the Year, a star athlete, and a student minister. He most recently served as one of the announcers for the school's football games broadcast on the Bruin Broadcast Network.

The scholarships were established in honor of both men shortly after their deaths. Earlier this year, the CHS Alumni Association Board of Directors voted to dedicate funds from the 2021 CHS Fishing Rodeo to the Coach Kyle Jackson ’07 Scholarship and funds from the 2021 CHS Golf Classic to the Kevin Franklin ’93 Scholarship. CHS Director of Alumni Relations Brian W. Hightower ’97, Associate Director Jenny Ridge, and members of the Alumni Association Board of Directors presented a check to the Coach Kyle Jackson ’07 Scholarship for $68,000 and a check to the Kevin Franklin ’93 Scholarship for $50,000 during the school’s homecoming game on Friday, October 22.

Access to these funds - meant to provide tuition assistance for families of CHS students - will begin in the 2022 - 2023 school year. For more information on these and other CHS scholarships, visit catholichigh.org/scholarships.
