Engineering Classes Participate in University of Louisiana Lafayette Engineering Expo

On March 29, a group of 28 students from Engineering Design and Development and Principles of Engineering classes traveled to Lafayette to participate in the University of Louisiana Lafayette Engineering Expo.  The students toured the various engineering department disciplines and participated in 2 challenges - water balloon drop in which the students had to design a receiver to safely catch a water balloon dropped from 30 feet and the aluminum foil boat in which a small boat constructed from aluminum foil was stressed with increasing numbers of pennies.  The Bears represented well with several safely catching the balloon and our best boat carried over 170 pennies.
