Students from the African American History course, taught by Mr. Tim Chustz '96, took a field trip to Whitney Plantation on Monday to learn more about the lives of slaves in America. While touring Whitney plantation, many of the students in our African American History class were impressed by the stories of resilience and day-to-day experiences of enslaved people that are presented there. Senior Kellen Anthony summed it up, “it was VERY eye opening to actually see what people endured while held as slaves in Louisiana.”
