CHS Celebrates Senior Send-Off MassĀ

The Catholic High School community celebrated the senior class’ last liturgy on campus on Wednesday, May 5th.

Members of the CHS & SJA choir provided the music for the Mass. Jacob Huffty ’21 was the cantor and soloist for “My God is a Rock.” A trio comprised of seniors Brennan Campesi, Ian Cavana, and John Johnson sang “Abide With Me.” The performances were moving and received a standing ovation from the students and faculty. Special thanks to our choir members and those from St. Joseph’s Academy for sharing their talents with our community.

Fr. Michael Alello ’98 served as celebrant. In his homily, Fr. Michael encouraged the seniors to be present in the moment, to not get distracted by what may happen in the future, but to live in this moment and cherish it. He reminded the senior class that no matter how far away they get from Catholic High School, they can always come back to this place of formation.

We were honored to have seven Brothers of the Sacred Heart in attendance. Their presence was a welcome reminder of the true mission of Catholic High School. Thank you to Br. Robert (Bob) Croteau, Br. Ray Hebert, Br. Cliff King, Br. David Landry, Br. Roger LeMoyne, Br. Mike Migacz, and Br. Paul Montero for being with us to celebrate.

It was the perfect day to have the Brothers on campus because as part of Senior dress-up week tradition, Wednesday’s theme was “Dress Like A Brother.” Several seniors honored the Brothers of the Sacred Heart by dressing in the traditional black slacks, white button-down shirt, and tie.
