Catholic High School celebrated the academic excellence of 462 students at two Academic Convocations this year in order to safely recognize students while following COVID-19 guidelines.
First honors certificates and pins were given to students who have maintained a cumulative 3.5 grade point average, and highest honors certificates and pins were given to students who have maintained a cumulative 4.0 grade point average as of May 2021. Special awards were also given to Nationally Recognized students and AP Scholars. Additionally students were honored for achievements on the National Latin Exam.
Anthony Chiasson, Alexander Lauve, and Kyle Oubre were recognized for earning the Summa Cum Laude certificate and gold medal, the highest award possible, for the National Latin Exam.
Several seniors were awarded scholarships. Peter Cates, Patrick Funes and Cade Pizzalato received the Brent David Pecue ’80 Memorial Scholarship and Hayden Musso was received the Jordan T. “Jordy” Rourke ’06 Memorial Scholarship. The recipient of the F. Wayne Frey ’71 and Marjorie “Grammy” Frey Memorial Endowed Scholarship was Ethan Cave and the Brother Adrian Gaudin, S.C. Scribe Memorial Endowed Scholarship, established by the Gaudin Family, was awarded to Cam Broussard. The Jacob Matthew Meek `17 Memorial Endowed Scholarship was awarded to Robert Ritchie, and the Mildred Creaghan Robichaux and Gertrude Creaghan Endowed Scholarship in Honor of Brother Carl Evans S.C.was awarded to Chris Masterson.
Fourteen seniors were recognized for having a 4.0 cumulative GPA, straight As for their entire CHS career! Those recognized were:
