Dominant First Half Lifts CHS Football Over Scotlandville

Junior Justin Batiste returned the opening kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown, sparking a dominant first-half effort for the Catholic High football team. The Bears put up 49 points in the first 24 minutes on their way to a 49-0 district victory over Scotlandville last Friday night.

Batiste and Lamond Robinson each found the end zone twice as CHS scored on all seven of its first-half possessions. Jayden Miles, Greg Williams, and Baylor Graves added touchdown runs of their own. The Bears' defense held the Hornets to just 109 total yards and forced two turnovers to preserve the shutout.

CHS (6-2, 3-0) returns to action this Thursday as the Bears travel to Woodlawn to take on the Panthers. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
