CHS Swim Team Captures Third Consecutive State Title

On Saturday, November 22, the Catholic High swim team outpaced the competition to win the Division I State Championship for the third consecutive year and the eleventh time in school history.

The Bears were led by Noah Vargas, who won the 200 IM and 100 Breast individual titles, as well as the first-place 400 Free relay team. CHS finished the meet with 437.5 points, over 100 points clear of second-place Jesuit.

200 Medley Relay (2nd): Blake Talbert, Noah Vargas, Khoa Nguyen, James LeBlanc

- Prelims only: Toby Nguyen, Mick Pasquier

- The Finals Relay set a new school record of 1:34.14

200 Free: Johnathan Kirk (2nd); Jack Cannon (7th); Austin Landry (8th)

- Vargas set a new school record and LHSAA Division I state record in prelims with a time of 1:50.58
