FOUNDED IN 1894 by the religious order of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, Catholic High School continues today as an independent, Catholic, all-male college preparatory high school.
NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE
Catholic High School has been recognized six times by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. CHS is the only school in the nation to be recognized six times.

The Blue Ribbon Schools program was established by the U.S. Department of Education in 1982 to recognize outstanding public and private schools across the nation. Blue Ribbon Schools are honored for their excellence in leadership, teaching, curriculum, achievement and parent involvement. Blue Ribbon Schools possess the following:
- High student retention and graduation rates
- Challenging standards and curriculum
- Excellent teaching within an environment that facilitates teacher improvement
- School, family and community partnerships
- High levels of student performance on measures of achievement
BROTHERS OF THE SACRED HEART
Brothers of the Sacred Heart is a religious congregation of men founded by Andre’ Coindre, a diocesan priest, in Lyon, France, in 1821. Their mission is the evangelization of young people, especially through the ministry of education.
CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL has been recommended for renewal of full accreditation by the Quality Assurance Review Team from AdvancED/Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The formal report from AdvancED recommending Catholic for full accreditation for five years was completed in the spring of 2018. All accredited schools must go through the renewal review process every five years.
Catholic High School focuses on providing young men with a holistic education that focuses on academic excellence rooted in religious values, friendly discipline, and personal attention.
