Seniors Receive Honors at Convocation

Stephen Michael Arceneaux was named outstanding graduate of the Class of 2011 at the annual Catholic High School Honors Convocation on May 19, 2011. 

Other special award winners were Jack Terence Collins,  Haggai DeLane Davis III, Michael Scott Kelly, Luke Daniel Matheny, John Austin Moore, David Christopher Sloas and David Ortlieb Stewart – National Merit Finalists.  Receiving the Principal’s Award for a 4.0 grade point average were Zachary Dell Freeman, Marc Alexander Hoffmann, Michael Scott Kelly, Bradford Bailey Kilshaw, Andrew Christopher Mire, David Christopher Sloas, David Ortlieb Stewart and Matthew Alexander Theriot.  Christopher John Sciambra was named Student Athlete; Stephen Lanehart Herrera received the Service Award; Kristian Kaae Jessen was the American Legion Award recipient. Salutatorian was David Christopher Sloas and Michael Scott Kelly was Valedictorian.  

Extracurricular award winners were Art Club - Patrick Hammond LeBas; Bearly Published - Spencer Ryan Brignac; Bruin - Zachary Brandon Louis; Drama Club - Daniel Bryce Kleinpeter; French Club – David Christopher Sloas; Hi-Y - Aaron Claude Brown III; Junior Classical League - Ryan Paul Denoux; Key Club - Peter Alfred Sicard; Mu Alpha Theta - John Austin Moore; National Honor Society - Jacob Mayer Cotton; Photography Club - Patrick David Richmond; Spanish Club - Sean Michael Saxon; Student Ambassador - John Austin Moore; and Student Council - Matthew Mark Landry.

Academic award winners included Art -  Jeremy Michael Lopez; Band –  Ross Lyons Starks; Business/Computer Ed – John Austin Moore; Chorus – John Angelo Ballance; English – Kenneth Andrew Zielewski; French –  Andrew Christopher Mire; Health & PE – Timothy Joseph Oldendorf; Latin –  Ryan Paul Denoux; Math – David Christopher Sloas; Religion – Andrew Christopher Mire; Science – Michael Scott Kelly; Social Studies – John Austin Moore; and Spanish – Bradford Bailey Kilshaw.

Fourteen seniors were named CHS Men of the Year.  They are Stephen Michael Arceneaux, Sean Christopher Averette, Lance Remmington Callihan, Nicolas Michael Cotten, Jacob Mayer Cotton, Austin Michael Daspit, Zachary Dell Freeman, Kristian Kaae Jessen, Brennan Michael McQuiston, Andrew Christopher Mire, Sean Michael Saxon, Christopher John Sciambra, David Christopher Sloas and Earl Michael Willis.
