Cross Country Wins Third State Title in Four Years

Cross Country won their third Class 5A boys state title in four years on Monday in Natchitoches.  With a total of 61 points, the Bears pulled past Brother Martin with 68 and St. Paul's with 73 points.  

Cole Stafford won the state individual title with a time of 15 minutes, 22.75 seconds.  Also placing in the top 10 was Joseph St. Cyr in sixth place with a time of 16:04.15.

“We wanted the team to win State and we gave it our best,” commented Stafford. 

This is the Bears' 16th team title overall.  The victory marked the 26th time that the “Big Orange Wave” has finished the season as the state champions or state runners-up.
