Raising school spirit, planning events to involve more students, and participating in more service projects were a few of the goals of the Student Council. The year was packed with projects such as sponsoring tailgates and dances, sponsoring a Glow In the Dark pep rally, and hosting “Bear Camp” – an orientation program for incoming eighth and ninth graders. Other activities included the Homecoming Week activities and dance, as well as Student Council Week and the CHS/SJA Challenge. The council members attended district, state, regional, and national conventions. The club was elected state president and the District III vice president for 2010. The club also adopted a family at Christmas, cleaned a local site for Keep Baton Rouge Beautiful, and visited the School for the Visual Impaired. The Council provided financial assistance for the National Honor Society Toy Drive and made a donation to the LASC state charity.

Eligible: CHS students in grades 8-12. Election by class vote.
