The National Honor Society once again spearheaded the CHS Christmas Toy Drive by gathering and purchasing toys to assist the Youth Council at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in their Annual Christmas Toy Sale, where they offer parents in an underprivileged area of Baton Rouge a chance to purchase toys for their children at greatly reduced prices. Since the toys are available at reduced prices, the parents can afford to pay for the toys and feel our outstretched arm in offering them a hand up and not just a handout. These young men were also responsible for moving all the new and gently used toys from the distribution center where many schools send their toys to St. Paul’s sale location. In addition, this year the National Honor Society sponsored a candy sale, and all proceeds were donated to the Marta Hernandez McCarron CHS Student Endowment Fund. They also provide ushers for various CHS events throughout the school year and tutors for our students who need additional academic help.

Eligible: CHS students who maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA in grades 11-12.
