Hi-Y Youth and Government Club
Catholic High students participated in the Hi-Y/Youth and Government Conference, held in Baton Rouge in early March. Students attended committee meetings held at Southern University, and then spent an entire day debating their bills in chamber at the Louisiana State Capitol. A bill, sponsored by Taylor Dizor and co-sponsored by Joseph Angelloz, to include Domestic Violence Education
in all high school health classes made it through the House and Senate and was signed into Youth and Government Law by the Governor. The club also raised funds to support the Youth and Government State Service Project: The Wounded Warrior Program. Once club officer elections are completed, an end-of-the-year dinner will be held to announce new officers.

Eligible: CHS students in grades 9-12.
