Catholic High School has been recommended for renewal of full Accreditation by the Quality Assurance Review Team from AdvancED/Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The formal report from AdvancEd recommending Catholic High for full Accreditation for the next five years will be complete by June 2013 and will be available on the CHS website. All accredited schools must go through the renewal review process every five years.
Over a two-day period, Tuesday, March 5 and Wednesday, March 6, the review board met with representatives of all stakeholders of Catholic High including faculty, staff, parents, students, community, business leaders and alumni. The review team also engaged in classroom observations and the analysis of documentation provided by the school, including surveys completed by parents, students, and faculty. In preparation of this review, CHS has held faculty meetings throughout the school year dedicated to the self-evaluation of the school, based on five standards established by AdvancED: Purpose and Direction; Governance and Leadership; Resources and Support Systems; Teaching and Assessing for Learning; and Using Results for Continuous Improvement.
The Strategic Plan that Catholic High School has undergone in the last two years provided significant resources for the AdvancED review process.
The Review Team, comprised of professional peers with diverse experience and rich contextual perspective, described Catholic High School as one of the most exceptional high schools in the country and expressed that CHS, as a community, has many reasons to be proud.
